If your Type 81 rifle was marketed as OR/”Optics Ready” and has external threads sticking out of the left side of the receiver then this is the side rail that will perfectly work with your Type 81 rifle. The rail works with with Type 81SR , Type 81 LMG , etc. if rifles have external threads sticking out of the left side of the receiver.
This side rail is machined from rigid 4140PH steel and given a black oxide coating. The rail has universal profile and allows for the use of both AK / Saiga / Vepr and SKS / SVD / PSL type side mounted optics and transformers.
This is improved Gen 2 side rails. The side rail allows the user to install it in two different positions depending on preference and which mounts are to be used.
Position 1 – Gen 1 original location, sitting a bit forward for wider mount compatibility.
Position 2 – A more traditional and typical location patterned off of similar side rails on the market.
